A couple of days in Southern England with my friend Peter Allen. Initial plan was to paddle hard and technical Upper Dart and to enjoy the Loop on the river Dart. Severe drought made us compensate with beer in local pubs and endless conversations about beer being flat or sparkling.
Facts about the trip:
-
You can trust Rainchasers : if they say it’s empty, it’s empty.
-
Dartmoor is beautiful.
-
Nature is lush and gorgeous.
-
Countryside is amazing and reminded me of Fantastic Mister Fox.
-
Beers are supposed to be sparkling, even on tap.
-
Upper Dart is cool.
-
We didn’t even bother to run the Loop because of the water level.
Lush
That’s it Folks!
Seems like a great trip. So many rocks and just about enough water. But the river looks lovely. Shame the loop wasn’t deep enough. A comparable video by one of the men: https://kathmandustories.wordpress.com/2013/04/09/302/
